Energy Community endorses draft law on Ukrainian electricity market
The Energy Community and the European Union have endorsed a draft law of Ukraine on the Ukrainian electricity market.
This was announced by head of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry's department for European integration Mykhailo Bno-Airiian at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"We had been waiting for a letter from the Energy Community and the European Union. This collective letter arrived last week. Everything is ready. I think we will submit this bill to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine soon," he said.
Bno-Airiian added that the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry had also received a letter from the World Bank, suggesting the finalization of the deadlines for the draft law on the electricity market. After the letter was received, the sides held additional consultations with the Energy Community, and the settlement of the issue is now at the final stage.
Secondary legislation on the speedy implementation of energy sector reform is being prepared simultaneously with work on the bill, he added.
