Gas discount for Ukraine in Q1 to depend on price situation – Novak

The question of the gas discount for Ukraine in Q1 2016 will depend on the price situation, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.

"Everything will depend on the prices that are set on the market. Now it is difficult to say. You see, a price, in order to bring the price to the market level, was lowered almost to zero, in Q4 this is $20 in all. Therefore this will depend on how it is set according to the formula, and what the market price will be, based on the situation," he said.

The contract gas price for Ukraine in Q4 is $248-$252 per thousand cubic meters depending on the calorific value of gas.
