Ukraine, Thailand could launch joint production of armored vehicles – Defense Ministry
Ukraine and Thailand could begin joint production of modern Ukrainian armored vehicles, including the BTR, which is currently produced by the Ukrainian corporation Ukroboronprom.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, joint production was discussed by the defense ministers of Ukraine and Thailand during the Defense & Security 2015 international defense exhibition in Bangkok.
"Thai Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan personally noted the high quality of the BTR-3E1 armored fighting vehicles. He added that the joint production of this machinery will significantly deepen military cooperation between the two countries," the press service reported.
Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak and his Thai counterpart discussed other prospective projects that could be beneficial to both countries, and he also invited Wongsuwan to visit Ukraine.
The meeting took place at the Ukroboronprom State Concern stand with the involvement of Thai officials.
