Rise in tariffs for shipping by rail to allow Ukrzaliznytsia to send UAH 7 bln for capital investment – Ukrzaliznytsia head
The increase in the tariffs for freight shipping by rail in Ukraine by 15% from January 1, 2016 would allow public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia to send around UAH 7 billion for capital investment, Ukrzaliznytsia Head Oleksandr Zavhorodniy has said.
"If [the increase in tariffs] do not take place, some UAH 3 billion will be sent for capital investment," he told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
As reported, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to increase tariffs for freight shipping by rail by 15%, while tariffs for shipping coal could be increased by 5%.
Zavhorodniy earlier said that the next increase in the tariffs for freight shipping by rail is planned in July 2016.
As for the tariffs for passenger transportation, Zavhorodniy said that the issue will be discussed after corresponding analysis is conducted.
