The death of pigs was registered on October 26 at a household in Vradiyivkam, Mykolaiv region.
The State Veterinary and Biosecurity Service of Ukraine reported on Tuesday that after tests two pigs tested positive for African Swine Fever (ASF).
Urgent measures to localize and liquidate the center of infection are being taken.
The ASF virus is the causative agent of ASF. The virus causes a hemorrhagic fever with high mortality rates in pigs, but persistently infects its natural hosts, warthogs, bushpigs and soft ticks of the Ornithodoros genus, without any visible symptoms. There is currently no vaccine against ASF.
