FTA agreement between EU, Ukraine not directed against Russia - Merkel
The agreement on the establishment of a free trade area (FTA) between the EU and Ukraine is not directed against Russia, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said.
The agreement on the FTA is not directed against Russia and will never be directed against Russia because Germany is interested in good relations between Ukraine and the EU, as well as with Russia, Merkel said at the opening of the Ukrainian-German Economic Forum in Berlin on Friday.
In the long term, Germany is interested in the merger of these economic spaces, she said.
