President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that there is no present need to declare mobilization.
"There is no need to declare mobilization now," he said at a briefing in Ivano-Frankivsk on Wednesday.
However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will still "be cleared for combat action if military fighting resumes."
In this case, the president said, mobilization would be declared publically and explained in detail.
Poroshenko stressed that the next call-up for military service will take place in late fall but will not constitute mobilization and those called up won't be sent to Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.
He also that rumors that persons liable for military service would be taken to the army straight from the voting stations are meant to frustrate the election process.
"I believe such kind of information appears ahead of the election not by the accident, this is an attempt to frustrate the election process. It's evident that these issues [announcing of mobilization and call-up] are in president's authority and are subjects of legislation," he said.
