Energoatom increases electricity production by 0.7% in Jan- Sept

Energoatom in January- September 2015 increased electricity production by 0.7% (by 428.4 million kilowatt-hours) year-over-year, to 64.39 billion kWh, the press service of the company has said.

The target was over-fulfilled by 2.7%.

Electricity sales on the wholesale market during the reporting period totaled 60.541 billion kWh compared to 59.997 billion kWh year-over-year. The Energoatom's share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 57.1% and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 55.5%.

In January- September 2015, the company transmitted electricity worth UAH 28.102 million (including VAT) to the wholesale power market, which is 41.9% more than in January- September 2014 (UAH 19.806 billion).

The payment of the wholesale electricity market for sold electricity came to 86% as of October 1, 2015, while as of October 1, 2014 it was 92.7%.

Capital investment came to UAH 2.032 billion compared to UAH 1.333 billion from a year ago.

The company sent UAH 3.964 billion to the budgets of all levels.

The coefficient of using Energoatom's capacity in January- September 2015 came to 70.9%, which was 0.5 percentage points up year-over-year.

Eleven malfunctions were recorded in the work of Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the reporting period, and in January- September 2014 seven malfunctions were registered too.

The durability of regular preventive repairs was 940.81 days, including finished repairs – 649.52 days.

Radiation levels and the fire and environmental situations at all Ukrainian NPPs were normal over the period.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.

The company also operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant with a 302 MW capacity in turbine mode and Oleksandrivka hydropower plant with an 11.5 MW capacity, which together with Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant make up the South Ukrainian energy complex. Energoatom also operates the Donuzlav wind farm.
