Two Ukrainian thermal power stations buying 75,000 tonnes of coal from South Africa
The Darnytska thermal power station in Kyiv is buying 40,000 tonnes of coal from South Africa; the one in Chernihiv – another 35,000 tonnes, the stations' operator Ukrteploenergo said in a press release.
The fuel is expected to arrive before the end of November.
The Cherkasy thermal power plant, which is also operated by Ukrteploenergo, has created a supply of 65,000 tonnes that will increase to 100,000 tonnes before December, the company said.
