Ukraine, Russia agree on exchange of permits for haulage
Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure and the Russian Ministry of Transport, after consultations held on October 15, achieved an agreement on the exchange of permits for haulage for the fourth quarter of 2015.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, a certain number of permits will be obtained within a few days. In accordance with the established procedure, they will be transferred.
According to the ministry, in late August 2015 the Russian Ministry of Transport was sent a proposal to exchange permits for the fourth quarter in accordance with the quota fixed by the protocol of 2012 for 2013-2015.
"Unfortunately, in violation of the agreements and the provisions of the agreement between the two countries, the Russian side refused to transfer its part of permits for the fourth quarter of this year to Ukraine, which led to the suspension of traffic between the two countries," Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure said.
