Nibulon plans to start dredging works on Southern Bug by late Oct
Nibulon agricultural company (Mykolaiv), Ukraine's largest producer and exporter of grain and oilseeds, plans to start dredging works on the Southern Bug River by the end of October 2015.
"By the end of October our company plans to start dredging works on the Southern Bug River using our own forces, as today public agencies do not make systemic steps to settle the issue," the company said in a report, citing Nibulon Director General Oleksiy Vadatursky.
He said that if the problem is ignored, in the future the river could grow shallow, making it impassable to ships.
The Southern Bug dredging project includes the improvement of ship navigation conditions from Voznesensk to Mykolaiv.
Nibulon was created in 1991. It is one of the largest operators in the grain market. The company has a total silo capacity of more than 1.7 million tonnes, as well as its own transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv.
