Ukraine hopes to get $300 mln from EBRD for gas purchases
Ukraine hopes to receive $300 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for gas purchases, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn has told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
"We plan to get [the funds]," he said.
Demchyshyn explained the agreement with the EBRD has not been signed for technical reasons, as Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko, who is currently on a business trip in South America, should have signed it on behalf o Ukraine.
According to the minister, the failure to sign the agreement to provide money for gas purchases is also not related to the ongoing reform of Naftogaz Ukrainy.
"There is such a plan [the reform of the Naftogaz Ukrainy corporate governance] as a separate document, it is being discussed, but it is not part of this agreement," Demchyshyn stated.
