Ultimate price of Russian gas for Ukraine in Q4, 2015 set at $232 per 1,000 cubic meters – Sefcovic
The ultimate price of Russian gas for Ukraine in the fourth quarter of 2015 is set at $232 per 1,000 cubic meters, European Commission Vice President in charge of Energy Union Maros Sefcovic said at a press conference after gas talks in Brussels on Friday.
The price is given with a discount provided by the Russian side by means of decreasing the export duty. This price would be $252 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas if the discount was not applied, he added.
A source close to the talks told Interfax that the structure of the "winter package" for Ukraine foresees that the price of Russian gas cannot be lower than spot prices in Europe, including for making re-exports of Russian gas from Europe impossible.
A mix of three marketplaces – gsspool, ttf and cegh – is used to calculate the threshold level.
