Nibulon to invest $15 mln in building elevator in Cherkasy region
Nibulon agricultural company (Mykolaiv), Ukraine's large producer and exporter of grain and oilseeds, plans to build an elevator worth $15 million in Cherkasy region, the company said in a post on its website, referring to Director General Oleksiy Vadatursky.
"We will work and invest. Our plans include construction of a super-powerful elevator in Uman district worth $15 million, the turnover of which would be up to 200,000 tonnes of grain a year. It would service three regions. This is a matter of few months to build it. With the opening of the new elevator, Cherkasy farmers would not have to think where to store grain. They would be able to store it at the good price," Vadatursky said at the Cherkasy Investment Forum on Friday.
Chairman of Cherkasy Regional Administration Yuriy Tkachenko said that at present, the company's specialists are studying the placement of the facility in Uman or Khrystynivka districts.
The company said that Nibulon launched an elevator complex of its Zolotonosha branch in Voznesenske (Cherkasy region) in 2007. In 2009, the terminal of Vittovo branch in Vitove started operating.
In Chyhyryn and Kamianka branches, the company plants crops on leased fields.
Nibulon was created in 1991. It is one of the largest operators in the grain market. The company has a total silo capacity of more than 1.7 million tonnes, as well as its own transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv.
