Ukraine National Bank reserves exceed $13 bln – Central Bank head
The National Bank of Ukraine notes the preservation of stability in the foreign exchange market and expects a currency flow that will allow it to increase international reserves, the size of which already exceeds $13 billion, head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva said.
"Our international reserves now exceed $13 billion," she said at a National Bank press conference on Thursday.
Starting September 17, the National Bank of Ukraine will conduct daily auctions for currency purchases, which have already acquired almost $80 million, she said.
Additionally, the increase in reserves has allowed carrying out swap operations with the Central Bank of Sweden for $500 million and the acquiring of $500 million rubles through the second loan program for political development of the finance sector from the World Bank.
