Construction Ministry to allocate UAH 1 bln for state energy efficiency programs in 2016 - deputy minister
Ukraine's Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services has initiated the allocation of about UAH 1 billion of budget funds for the implementation of programs on thermal housing modernization and energy efficiency measures, Deputy Minister Roman Abramovsky has said.
"We had a request for about UAH 500 million for these programs, for alternative energy and almost another UAH 500 million for measures for apartment buildings insulation," he said during a general meeting of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine in Kyiv.
Abramovsky said that at present, the Ukrainian thermal modernization and energy efficiency market is estimated at being worth around UAH 600 billion. He added that this figure is probably underestimated.
