Government to issue UAH 21.5 bln to Deposit Guarantee Fund
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to issue UAH 21.5 billion to the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund to ensure continued payments to depositors, Fund Managing Director Kostiantyn Vorushilin has said.
"Recently, the Cabinet adopted a decree on the allocation of UAH 21.5 billion to the fund," he said during a meeting with journalists in Kyiv.
Vorushilin stressed that the fund is fully provided with money required to solve the tasks assigned to it.
He also said that the fund's total commitments on payments to the depositors of 56 insolvent banks is UAH 61.5 billion, of which in 2015 they received UAH 31.65 billion, and the total amount of payments in 2014-2015 was UAH 45.6 billion. Payments to depositors planned in 2015 stand at UAH 46.31 billion.
