First batch of 30,000 tonnes of coal from Russia comes to Ukraine - Demchyshyn
The first batch of Russian coal in the amount of 30,000 tonnes purchased by Centrenergo has already arrived in Ukraine, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said.
"Some 30,000 tonnes of coal have crossed [the border]," Demchyshyn told reporters after a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
According to the minister, the coal is being directed to Zmiyivska and Trypilska thermal power plants (TPP). Under the contract, Centrenergo is to get a total of 200,000 tonnes of coal.
