Concorde Capital to assist SEC in investigation

Concorde Capital investment company is conducting an internal investigation in connection with suspicion voiced by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"Currently we are trying to clarify the situation, conducting an internal investigation. We are open and will assist in the official investigation," reads a statement.

Concorde Capital stated it is one of the largest operators in the investment market in Ukraine, serves hundreds of customers, investing and carrying out transactions all over the world, in particular in the United States.

"Obviously, some of these transactions have appeared suspicious," the company said.

As reported, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit for fraud against a number of professional stock market participants, the list of which includes two well-known investment companies and six traders from Ukraine.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants realized an international scam, hacking the servers of at least two news agencies and dishonestly obtaining confidential financial information about companies traded on exchanges from unpublished press releases. Then the attackers used the information to trade in securities and thus received about $100 million of illegal income.
