Ukraine not planning to supply gas to uncontrolled areas of Donbas in 2015/2016 heating season – energy minister
Ukraine has no plans to supply natural gas to the uncontrolled territory in Donbas in the 2015/2016 heating season, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said.
"Having 16.6 billion cubic meters of gas last year (in the underground gas storage facilities before the start of the 2014/2015 heating season) we shipped 2 billion cubic meters of gas to the uncontrolled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which we do not expect this year," he said during a roundtable meeting in Kyiv on Thursday.
As reported, Russia's Gazprom Head Alexei Miller said that between the start of the year and June 26, 2015, Gazprom supplied 704 million cubic meters of gas worth $212 million to consumers in Donbas.
