Ukrtransgaz predicts fall in Russian gas transit by 17.7% in 2015
Transit of Russian gas via Ukraine could fall by 17.7% in 2015 or by 11 billion cubic meters compared to the previous year, Head of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz Ihor Prokopiv has said.
"We had transit of 62 billion cubic meters, and this year it will be 51 billion cubic meters," he said.
The Ukrtransgaz head said that due to the reduction of gas transit and a set of measures to save and optimize works, the company plans to cut gas for technological needs in 2015 to 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters compared to 1.85 billion cubic meters in 2014 (3.3 billion cubic meters in 2011).
