Yatseniuk instructs Fiscal Service to increase VAT revenues by combating tax pits, fraud, smuggling
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has instructed the State Fiscal Service to increase revenues from VAT by 5% through a real fight against tax pits and fraud.
"The third block of the Fiscal Service restructuring is the fight against VAT fraud, the increase in VAT revenues via a real fight against tax pits. And the performance criterion here is the increase of VAT revenues by 5% in May-July," Yatseniuk said at a Fiscal Service meeting in Kyiv.
In addition to increasing revenues from VAT, Yatseniuk said another criterion required to fulfill this task is bringing both organizers and customers of "VAT laundering schemes" to account.
"The main task is to find the customers of schemes for laundering VAT for billions [of hryvnias]," the prime minister said.
Also, Yatseniuk instructed Fiscal Service Deputy Chairman Kostiantyn Likarchuk to strengthen fight against smuggling.
"The criterion for you here is a 20% increase in VAT receipts from customs offices for the relevant period," Yatseniuk said.
