Jaresko says meeting with creditors may take place on June 30 or July 1
An exact date for the trilateral meeting of Ukraine and its creditors with the participation of the IMF in Washington has not been set yet, but such a meeting may be held on Tuesday June 30, or Wednesday July 1, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has said.
"We have not yet agreed - Tuesday or Wednesday, I cannot tell you for certain," she told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
The finance minister said that Ukraine has not yet received a response from the creditors to the proposals it sent last week, which are based on the downgraded macroeconomic outlook for 2015, and which includes the possibility of issuing value recovery instruments which should compensate for the loss the creditors will incur in case the debt is written off as offered by Ukraine, if Ukraine's economy will recover faster than forecast.
According to Jaresko, a meeting with the IMF representatives, which will address Ukraine's macroeconomic forecast, will take place before the negotiations with the lenders.
