Turkcell begins talks on purchase of 45% SCM's stake in Astelit
Turkey's Turkcell telecommunications company could buy a 44.96% stake in Euroasia Telecommunications Holding BV (the Netherlands) which holds 100% in Astelit LLC, the Ukrainian mobile communications operator under the life:) brand, and increase its stake in Euroasia to 100%.
The Turkish company said in a report that its board of directors decided to start negotiations with System Capital Management Limited (SCM).
The press service of SCM did not comment on the possible deal.
"We cannot present comments on the issue, as we do not comment on hypothetical deals and plans," the press service said.
Astelit LLC, on February 23, 2015 was named the winner of the first lot to obtain licenses for 3G communications. The licenses cost the operator UAH 3.355 billion.
