Yatseniuk hopes IMF will decide on second EFF tranche for Ukraine by July 10
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has called on lawmakers to quickly pass the laws required for the provision of the second trance of $1.7 billion under the IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program to Ukraine, to ensure that the IMF Board can make the decision to provide the funds before July 10.
"I hope that during this week the parliamentary coalition would submit draft laws that have not been passed today for second reading, as by July 10 we are to come to the meeting of the IMF Board to receive the next tranche," he said in the parliament on Thursday.
Yatseniuk drew attention to draft law No. 2956 which lifts the moratorium on the forced sale of the assets of companies with a state stake of at least 25% to repay these companies' debts for gas to Naftogaz Ukrainy and its subsidiaries.
"Under this law oligarchs-owners of heating supply companies who collect money from people and do not pay for gas bought from Naftogaz, but put the money in their pockets, will be deprived of ownership to their heating supply companies," he said.
