Ukraine cuts gas consumption by 21.5%, imports - by 17.2%, transit - by 26.4% in Jan-April 2015
Ukraine in January-April 2015 reduced gas consumption by 21.5% compared to the same period in 2014, to 16.757 billion cubic meters.
According to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, in April the fall in gas consumption amounted to 21.8% compared to the same month in 2014, to 2.35 billion cubic meters.
Gas imports for the first four months in 2015 decreased by 17.2% compared to the same period of 2014, to 7.245 billion cubic meters.
Gas transit through Ukraine in January-April 2015 decreased by 26.4% compared to the same period in 2014, to 17.969 billion cubic meters.
In April 2015, the Ukrainian gas transportation system (GTS) handled 5.204 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 10.2% less than in April 2014.
