SBU opens criminal case against Skhidny Mining, Energoatom officials accusing them of causing $10 mln damage to state
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened criminal cases against officials of Skhidny Mining and Enrichment Combine (VostGOK, Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region) and National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom who are accused of causing $10 million damage to the state.
"Officials of Skhidny Mining in 2014 bought uranium concentrate from a commercial structure specially created by it. Concentrate was bought from a foreign supplier at the price of $90 per kilogram and it totally cost $18 million. However, the company's official documents had the price of $138 per kilogram. Thus, direct losses of almost $10 million were caused to the state. The officials removed the funds to the shadows via accounts of bubble firms," reads the report.
The SBU said that uranium concentrate at the price of $138 per kilogram was supplied to Energoatom.
"Officials of Energoatom were involved to agree to buy the products at the increased price," the SBU said.
