Ukraine exports 1.147 bln kWh of electricity in Jan-April, imports 1.382 mln kWh
Ukraine reduced electricity exports by 60% or 1.723 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in January-April 2015 year-over-year, to 1.147 billion, a source in the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.
Electricity supplies from Burshtyn Energy Island towards Hungary, Slovakia and Romania fell by 22.4% or 329.8 million kWh in the first three months, to 1.144 billion kWh.
Ukraine did not export electricity to Poland in January-April 2015, whereas in the first four months of 2014 Ukraine exported 429.6 million kWh.
A total of 300,000 kWh of electricity was supplied to Belarus and 3.5 million kWh to Moldova compared to 693.6 million kWh and 273.5 million kWh in January-April 2014 respectively.
Russia did not buy Ukrainian electricity both in the first four months of 2015 and 2014.
In January-March 2015, Ukraine imported 1.382 billion kWh – all bought from Russia. Electricity imports in April totaled 142.5 million kWh.
