Energy regulator believes reducing gas price for households is impossible
The National Commission of Ukraine on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) believes reducing gas prices for households is impossible, NCER head Dmytro Vovk said.
"We see no sources to optimize the prices on the part of NCER," he said.
Vovk said, "if the price of gas bought in Europe is multiplied by the forex rate of the dollar [against the Ukrainian hryvnia] and all the taxes are added, the final price will be higher than the highest gas rate for households."
He also mentioned some initiatives to optimize heating tariffs for households, while there are no such opportunities for gas.
