UCAB supports launch of state farmland sales from 2016
The farmland market should be opened by holding transparent auctions to sell state land from January 1, 2016, President of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) Alex Lissitsa said at a press conference held at Interfax-Ukraine.
"Let's launch the state farmland market from January 1, 2016 via the sale at auctions that should be presented in details with the participation of rural communities and put it as second clause when the second phase of the reform will be held, when the sale of private farmland will start," he said.
He said farmers oppose the launch of the whole farmland market from 2016 due to lack of funds to buy land and the prevalence of corruption.
As reported, the creation of the farmland market in Ukraine has been postponed several times. At present, a moratorium on the sale of farmland is in effect until January 1, 2016.
