Naftogaz plans to open route for Romanian gas supplies by 2015
Naftogaz Ukrainy plans to open a route for gas supplies from Romania by the end of 2015, company CEO Andriy Kobolev told reporters in Kyiv.
"We are working on opening an interconnector from Romania towards Ukraine. Negotiations are being held, I hope we'll manage to open it by the end of the year," he said.
Kobolev said that the aim of opening the route is the delivery of Romanian gas after the onset of its surplus.
"The goal is as follows: Romania next year will become a net exporter of gas, they will have a surplus of about 2 billion cubic meters," he said.
Kobolev added that the route would be organized on the basis of the existing gas pipelines.
