Some UAH 137 mln for Chornobyl zone 'lost' in state treasury accounts in 2014 – minister
Around UAH 137 million meant for financing the Chornobyl zone in 2014 was 'lost' in the accounts of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Ihor Shevchenko has said.
"Certain money was lost, and we're trying to return it. This is not due to the fault of the zone's administration. Unclear frauds in the treasury at the end of 2014 were used and UAH 137 million meant for financing the Chornobyl zone was lost," he said.
He added that the ministry, jointly with the Finance Ministry, is trying to find the funds and use them for their intended purpose.
