Lukoil's first multilateral well in Caspian finds hydrocarbons
LLC Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft, a subsidiary of Russian oil company Lukoil, has completed building the first dual-bore production well in the Russian section of the Caspian Sea, the company said in a press release.
The well was drilled from a fixed offshore ice-resistant platform at the Korchagin field, located in the northern part of the Caspian. The well is completed with two horizontal bores running 1,850 meters and 1,762 meters that have found a gas condensate reservoir of Upper Jurassic deposits.
Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft said it currently produces more than 4,500 tonnes of oil per day at the Korchagin field.
