Ukrtransgaz hopes Russian gas transit volume will retain current level
Public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz hopes that Russian gas transit via Ukraine will retain its current level, Ukrtransgaz President Ihor Prokopiv told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He said that in early 2015 gas transit volume was 105 million cubic meters a day, and at present transit totals 160-170 million cubic meters a day.
Prokopiv said that it is hard to predict the decisions of Russia's Gazprom regarding the transit of Russian natural gas via Ukraine.
Ukrtransgaz, which is 100% owned by NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk pipelines and 12 underground storage facilities in Ukraine.
The capacity of Ukraine's gas transport system is 288 billion cubic meters at the entrance and 178.5 billion cubic meters at the exit, of which 142.5 billion cubic meters goes to European countries and 3.5 billion cubic meters goes to Moldova.
