State Fiscal Service should be integrated into Finance Ministry – Yatseniuk
The State Fiscal Service should be integrated into the Finance Minister, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk.
"I think that the State Fiscal Service should become part of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine," he said in parliament on Friday.
He said that the process to reform the State Fiscal Service, which is being discussed by the government with international creditors, is now being finalized.
The new heads of the State Fiscal Service have got three tasks, including reforming the tax police, he said.
"We suggested disbanding the tax police and turning it into an agency to conduct civil investigations in taxation-related crimes," he said.
As reported, a commission probing the activity of the heads of the State Fiscal Service, which was chaired by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius, proposed that the State Fiscal Service should be subordinate to the Finance Ministry, which he said is in line with the International Monetary Fund's requirements.
