Yatseniuk wants Ukroboronprom to report on fulfilment of state defense orders
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk wants state-run Ukroboronprom concern's top management to report on the supply of arms and military hardware to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"I'd like to ask the defense minister to invite Ukroboronprom, and I'd like to understand what's going on with the supplies of military equipment and arms, as we've already effected advance payment worth billions of hryvnias," Yatseniuk said at a government meeting on Wednesday.
In particular, Yatseniuk said that the government is interested in how the schedule of weapons and military equipment supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and repairs is being observed.
He also said that the cabinet is interested in information about how the funds transferred to Ukroboronprom are being spent.
"After all, it's much easier for diplomats to negotiate if the armed forces are strong and battle-ready," he added.
