War against Ukraine costs Gazprom $6 bln – Yatseniuk
NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy saved $3.4 billion in 2014 on purchases of Russian gas from Russia's OAO Gazprom at a lower price than the one stipulated in the Ukrainian -Russian 2009 gas contracts, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.
"All in all, war against Ukraine cost Gazprom $6 billion in loss," he said while opening a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Additional losses sustained by the Russian gas monopoly are connected with gas purchases by Ukraine from Europe.
Yatseniuk said that Naftogaz had managed to agree on gas supplies under contracts with large international companies, namely Statoil, Shell, Gas de France, and RWE.
