Hungary's Wizz Air won't close Ukrainian subsidiary, will wait for lower risks
Hungary's Wizz Air will not close its subsidiary company in Ukraine – Wizz Air Ukraine, Ukrainian First Deputy Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Shulmeister told reporters on Friday.
This was discussed at a meeting with the Hungarian airline which was initiated by the Ukrainian ministry he said.
"Wizz Air Ukraine stays here, and as soon as they realize that the level of risks has been lowered for them, they will re-launch this company," Shulmeister said.
Shulmeister said that Ukraine's State Aviation Service had already renewed the company's permission to fly to Poland, Germany, and Cyprus. Talks are also underway on Wizz Air Ukraine flights between Ukraine and Italy, and Spain, which requires permits from those countries.
The ministry has also offered flights to and from Lviv to Wizz Air Ukraine.
Also, Shulmeister said that Hungary's Wizz Air will service flights from Hungary to Vilnius and Sofia. The possibility of launching flights from those cities to Ukraine is also being negotiated.
