Yatseniuk insists on obligatory rent rate payments for gas pipelines by Firtash/Liovochkin's companies
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that rent rates for regional gas distribution companies that belong to the "Firtash-Liovochkin group" are to be paid to the state.
"Regional gas supply companies that belong to the Firtash-Liovochkin group use all gas distribution pipelines that are in state ownership free of charge. The government demands that a relevant law that would foresee the exclusive right to use the gas pipelines only on a paid basis is passed. Pay money to the state… I hope that the parliament will support the government's position," he said.
Previously, Naftogaz Ukrainy Head Andriy Kobolev said he doubted whether the introduction of rent rates for gas supply companies is appropriate, as this will result in a rise in tariffs for gas transportation.
