Underlying inflation in Ukraine in March 2015 came to 10.8%, a historic record since the start of its calculation in 2008, and it was 5.4% up on February and 2.3-2.8% up on the previous five months, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported.
According to the report, underlying inflation has amounted to 19.8% since early 2015.
In annual terms underlying inflation accelerated to 44.6%, from 33.2% in February, 26.1% in January, and 22.8% in 2014.
Underlying inflation does not include short-term irregular changes in prices influenced by various factors of an administrative, event-based or seasonal character. For instance, it does not include changes in the price of food and energy.
In 2012-2013, monthly underlying inflation varied within 0.1%.
Consumer prices in Ukraine in March 2015 grew by 10.8% - the highest indicator since September 1995, and in annual terms their growth reached 45.8% - the highest indicator since October 1996.
