Gas supply diversification must lead to lower prices – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the actions taken by the authorities on gas supply diversification must lead to lower gas prices.
When discussing the actions the Ukrainian authorities have taken to lower the country's dependence on gas supplies during an interview on Channel 5 TV on Saturday, Poroshenko said "I think it must lead to making tariffs lower, including for factories."
He said that within the last year the authorities have diversified gas supply.
"We diversified energy products' supplies and today we don't depend on a single country," he said.
He also said that the agreement on reverse gas from EU member states has been reached, which has considerably increased Ukraine's energy independence.
