Russia to charge Ukraine $247.18 per 1,000 cu m for gas in Q2; won't apply take-or-pay rule
Take-or-pay provisions, the last remaining bone of contention in negotiations between Russia's OAO Gazprom and NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy on a gas supply agreement in the second quarter, will not be in effect.
However, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told journalists: "It is set down separately that the signed supplement does not have any effect on the legal positions of the sides in the litigation now underway in Stockholm [arbitration]."
Gazprom also reported the updated contract price for Russian gas. "The actual price for supplies of gas in the second quarter will be reduced in accordance with the Russian government resolution on customs duties and will total $247.18 per 1,000 cubic meters," Miller said.
