Ecology ministry demands Golden Derrick to refund losses for illegal use of Sakhalynske field

The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Ukraine has demanded Golden Derrick LLC to compensate losses incurred by the illegal use of parts of the Sakhalynske gas condensate field (Kharkiv region).

"We’ve filed a claim on refunding losses which the state faced over the period when they [stakes for the Sakhalynske field] were in the illegal ownership of Golden Derrick," Ecology Minister Ihor Shevchenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

As reported, the court had previously returned several stakes in joint activity projects on producing fossil fuel on the Sakhalynske field to the ownership of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy.
