US OPIC ready to invest $250 mln in each project in Ukraine – Agricultural Ministry
Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC, the United States) is ready to invest in projects in Ukraine in the amount of up to $250 million in one project, while the number of projects initiated is not limited.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, this was agreed at a meeting of Ukrainian Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko and Senior Advisor to the OPIC President Kareem Saleh in Washington.
"We need support to strengthen and improve the efficiency of agriculture, in particular with respect to access to financing for small producers," Pavlenko said.
The ministry press service said that OPIC assists U.S. companies in entering the markets of developing countries, basically at the expense of loans and guarantees, political risk insurance, and support for private equity funds.
