Ukrainian airports sees 18% fall in passenger flow in Jan-Feb
Airports of the continental part of Ukraine (apart from airports in Simferopol and Sevastopol) saw an 18.4% fall in passenger flow in January-February 2015 year-over-year, to 1.333 million people.
According to the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, passenger flows on international routes fell by 16.6%, to 1.179 million, including a fall of 14.5% for regular flights, to 1.052 million passengers.
Passenger flow on domestic routes fell by 29.9%, to 153,500, including a decline of 29.5% for regular flights, to 148,600.
The largest airport of the country – Boryspil airport – cut passenger flow by 14.2% over the period, to 888,400, and the second Kyiv (Zhuliany) airport decreased it by 31.4%, to 147,800 passengers.
Kharkiv airport saw a decline of 54.6% in passenger flow, to 39,600 passengers, Odesa airport - a decline of 11.3%, to 118,300 passengers, and Lviv airport – a fall of 15.3%, to 65,800 passengers.
Three airports showed a rise in passenger flow in January-February 2015: Zaporizhia airport – a rise of 63%, to 8,800 passengers, Ivano-Frankivsk airport – a rise of 35.5%, to 10,300 and Kryvy Rih airport – a rise of two times, to 200 passengers.
