New car market in Ukraine five-fold down in two months - Ukrautoprom
New car sales in Ukraine in January-February fell by 4.9 times compared to the same period in 2014, to 5,520 cars, the Ukrautoprom association has said.
According to the data, some 2,924 cars were sold and registered in February, which is 5 times less than in February 2014.
The association notes that in addition to a significant drop in sales, the market structure changed significantly in February: the leader in sales, despite a four-fold drop from February last year, to 241 units, was Renault (in February last year Geely was the leader), which in January this year ranked second.
The second in terms of sales in January was Nissan with 228 cars sold.
Mazda ranked third with 217 cars in February, which a year ago was only on the 16th place, but compared to February 2014 the decline in sales was 26%.
Hyundai ranked fourth with 213 new cars, while Volkswagen ranked fifth- 172 cars.
