Naftogaz saves $100 mln due to gas purchase in Europe in Feb

Naftogaz Ukrainy in February 2015 saved $100 million on the difference between the price of gas purchased in Europe and the price proposed by Gazprom, according to the director for business development at Naftogaz Ukrainy, Yuriy Vitrenko.

"For instance, only in February we saved $100 million on the difference between the price of gas we pay for reverse and the price set by Gazprom," he said at the Ukrainian Energy Forum organized by the Adam Smith Institute in Kyiv.

Vitrenko also said that since the start of gas purchases by the state holding from Europe the price of reverse gas has always been lower than the gas price set by Gazprom, even including all "political discounts."
