Parliament passes at first reading bill on stabilizing financial state of Naftogaz Ukrainy
The Ukrainian parliament has passed at first reading a draft law foreseeing the sale of claims to debts of consumers at auctions by national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that a total of 242 lawmakers supported draft law No. 2214 on Tuesday.
The adoption of the law will allow suppliers to disconnect consumers against which bankruptcy cases are opened from gas supplies.
According to the document, the guaranteed suppliers will be able to sign contracts with consumers against which bankruptcy cases are opened or debtors only if a guarantee or guarantees are provided in the amount of that worth least two-month consumption in the heating season.
