Poroshenko setting up Constitutional commission led by Rada speaker
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree setting up a Constitutional commission, an auxiliary agency operating under his auspices. The decree was published on the presidential website on Tuesday.
The president proposed to approve the constitutional commission regulations and nominated Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman as the commission chairman.
Poroshenko asked Verkhovna Rada groups, the government, the Supreme Court, local self-government associations, the National Academy of Sciences, law schools, research centers, public associations of law and international organizations to propose candidates to the constitutional constitution by March 12.
The commission is tasked to summarize the enforcement of constitutional norms, propose improvements of the enforcement practices and suggest ways of the constitution reform.
