Belarus is ready to supply electricity to Ukraine, Belarusian Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik said at a press conference in Minsk on Thursday.
"We're ready to propose to Ukraine that we supply electricity to their market," he said, adding that the initiative was suggested by Ukraine.
The minister said that Belarus plans to double electricity exports in 2015.
He also said that Belarus plans to import 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity from Russia in 2015.
In 2014, Belarus did not supply electricity to Ukraine, but bought Ukrainian electricity instead. Contracts on the supply of electricity from Ukraine expired in November 2014. From October 2014 Ukraine decided to halt its export of electricity, including to Belarus.
